Examiner: responsible for the day-to-day examination of title files. This professional reviews compiled information pertaining to the subject property and then utilizes codes to properly identify each item to be disclosed on the title report.

Searcher: responsible for the day-to-day creation of real property searches, for researching public records, and for compiling all information pertaining to customer orders. This professional obtains the required information from tract index or county courthouses to prepare property reports. The searcher must include the general indices of current and prior owners, including the new purchaser (if applicable), utilizing computers and reader printers. If you love investigation and getting into the nitty gritty details, this is the job for you.

Title Assistant: performs various clerical tasks as directed by the company’s title officers. This professional is responsible for incoming and outgoing correspondence, proofreading, filing, and copying. This position prepares documents and instructions for closing transactions.

Title Manager: manages one or more title agency offices.  Develops, trains, and retains an effective office support team(s) to meet objectives for profitability and growth. Works with executive management to carry out office(s) programs, policies, and objectives. Management and people skills are a plus.

Title Officer/Underwriter: reads and examines title searches to determine the effect on properties. This professional reviews all closing documents and instructions pertaining to transactions. In some cases, this position supervises the workload of the title unit.

Escrow Assistant/Pre-Closer: responsible for pre-closing matters. This professional works with lenders, loan officers, and attorneys to acquire, analyze, and organize all necessary documents needed to process the closing. Are you the one who always plans parties? Or would you friends describe you as “all about the details”? This is the job for you.

Escrow Officer/Processor: performs advanced duties related to all facets of the transaction. This professional is required to exercise extreme independent judgment and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation that may arise during the title process. If you’re good with people, details, and organization, this is the desk for you.

Post-Closers: copy and scan the package after closing, make sure all documents are sent to recording and all parties, get checks sent to appropriate recipients.

Recording Specialist: responsible for reviewing documents and processing recording packages. Like to dot every i and cross every t? This is a detailed job just for you.

Sales Representative/Business Development: makes calls to produce title and escrow business for the company. This professional establishes relationships with individuals who can generate further business. This position also professionally promotes the company’s products and services to existing and new clients and prospects. Are you the life of the party and can sell oceanfront property in Arizona? This is the job for you.

Sales Support/ISA/Assistant: provides support, coordinates, and administers specific marketing services and programs.

Sales Manager: responsible for sales team and their activities to achieve overall customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals. In some larger companies, there may even be a Regional Sales Manager.

Marketing Director: responsible for brand awareness in the community and driving leads to the sales department. If Creativity is your middle name, this is the job for you.

Administrative Assistant: provides services by implementing administrative systems, procedures, and policies. This professional is also responsible for monitoring administrative projects.

Branch/Office Manager: handles day-to-day operational issues. This professional is responsible for recruiting new staff, training existing staff, and maintaining office morale. This position engages in many departments and must pay close attention to cost reductions, efficiency workflows, and more. They also work with the other department managers to carry out company programs, policies, and objectives.

Bookkeeper: responsible for various bookkeeping functions of the department, including but not limited to bank reconciliations, invoicing, data entry, weekly deposits, pay bills, and general ledger reconciliations. Are you an ace at math? This one is a no-brainer.

Customer Service Representative: provides timely, quality customer service; performs research necessary to respond to inquiries and gives assistance where needed to other departmental staff. Maintains log of customer interactions, including complaints and resolutions.

File Clerk: responsible for the retrieval and filing of all files This professional is also responsible for maintaining file areas both onsite and at offsite storage areas. They may also be responsible for archiving and creating a filing system.

IT Systems Administrator/Manager: responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of the computer information systems. This professional is responsible for managing vendor IT services and coordinating with the managed service provider on all IT issues.

HR Administrator: responsible for supporting employees. This professional processes new hires, coordinates new hire orientations, maintains personnel files, and handles transfers. This position also arranges rate changes, payroll, and terminations. The human resources administrator is required to maintain utmost confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of their work. This position may also be responsible for tracking health-related issues of employees.
